SULTAN — A serious-injury accident outside Sultan on Tuesday night remains under investigation.
The wreck was reported around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Florence Acres Road and Woods Lake Road, west of Sultan.
Two brothers from Monroe were in a Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible that struck a decorative cement or brick pillar in a driveway entrance, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The passenger, 25, was in critical condition Wednesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He had severe head injuries.
The driver, 26, didn’t appear to be injured.
“Detectives are working to determine what caused the crash,” Hover said Wednesday. “So far it looks like speed was a factor.”
