Some work must accompany help

It is not capitalism that is destroying this nation, but welfare. Capitalism allows all people the chance to prosper. Welfare keeps people poor and dependent. We poured our money into the welfare program and gave the right to buy homes (the American Dream) to people who cannot afford them; now we ar

e paying the price.

My granddaughter and her husband lived with us for a while and were on food stamps. She bought a rack of lamb, ate four pieces and threw away the rest. I asked her what she was doing and she said “We don’t eat leftovers.” She is still on welfare in a different state three years later. God’s word in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 says those that won’t work don’t eat.

I can see jobs everywhere. Older people need help. As I drive down any street I see homes that need their gutters cleaned, their gardens weeded, the house painted, roofs de-mossed. Knock on some doors see what needs to be done and do it.

America has always been a place of opportunity. That’s why so many want to live here. Let’s not destroy our children’s future by welcoming socialism.
