EVERETT — Heavy police activity in south Everett on Thursday night turned out to be nothing major.
Neighbors heard a popping sound around 5 p.m. and called 911, Everett police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg said. When officers arrived at the apartment complex near the 10400 block of Third Avenue SE, people started running, adding to the confusion.
A police dog swept the scene, and officers did an emergency-entrance check of the building, Dalberg said. They found no evidence of any gunfire or anyone hurt.
They were working late Thursday night to talk to people who lived nearby and find out what happened.
