Here comes Santa Paws, all for a good cause

EVERETT -- Dogs, cats and even rats.

Santa's ready to have his photo taken with the furry members of your family -- and you, too.

The event, called Santa Paws, allows the public to get their holiday photos taken with their pets. It's scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Road.

Get a photo plus a holiday card featuring the picture and a CD with at least five shots of the session.

The cost is $20 and all of the proceeds go toward the nonprofit Animal Rescue Foundation, which supports the shelter's vet clinic.

Pets must arrive on a leash or in a pet carrier.

Donations also are welcome by mail at ARF of Everett, P.O. Box 12817, Everett, WA 98206.

The nonprofit is looking for volunteers: community leaders with experience in procurement, event planning and marketing. They are looking for help with feline rescue transportation and feline care, too.

For more information, go to www.everettarf.org or call 425-257-6273.
