Sasquatch lineup coming next week; here’s my wish list

The Sasquatch! Music Festival has become a pretty big deal around these parts and next Thursday night the 2012 lineup will be announced. This year the Sasquatch! Launch Party will be held at the Neptune Theater where the lineup will be announced throughout the night. The party will be hosted by Luke Burbank and feature music from Junip, Matthew Caws of Nada Surf, and The Physics.

For me, finding out who is playing my favorite music festival every year is better than Christmas. As soon as Sasquatch ends I spend the rest of the year yearning for February to find out who’s playing the next one all the while playing the lineup guessing game with my friends and trying to decide which rumors to cling to (Allen Stone and The Shins) and which ones are clearly false (Radiohead).

This year I decided that rather than put together a list of predictions for the lineup I would instead make a wish list of bands I would love to see on the bill. This way nobody can laugh at me when I’m wrong. The list is pretty long but it’s a four day festival so I figured I’d dream big.

What Radio?’s Sasquatch! wish list:

• Portugal. The Man

• The Shins

• Bon Iver

• Arcade Fire

• Dirty Vegas

• The Head and The Heart

• Ghostland Observatory

• Pickwick

• Common

• Allen Stone

• Little Dragon

• The Submarines

• Of Montreal

• Childish Gambino

• Typhoon

• Geographer

• The Lumineers

• Tune-Yards

• Blitzen Trapper

• Pretty Lights

• Grouplove

• Animal Collective

• Cake

• The Moondoggies

• Girl Talk

• Daydream Vacation

• The Helio Sequence

• The Weeknd

• Friendly Fires

• Dirty Projectors

• Beirut

• Vampire Weekend

• Cults

• My Goodness

• Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin

• The National

A lot of people are predicting MGMT to headline. They played probably the worst set I have ever seen at Sasquatch! two years ago and I don’t want them anywhere near this thing so I am putting them on my “Please don’t ever come back to the Gorge” list.
