After reading an article about “How to donate to family of slain girl,” I am wondering if I’m the only cynic in this world. I noted that this money would be used for medical bills and other costs. Derek Carlile, like other police officers, has excellent medical benefits, which would most likely cover all the medical costs.

That leaves the “other” costs, which most likely will be used for legal bills. As tragic as this situation is, I think The Herald should be very specific on how the money donated will be used and why.
