The home-invasion robbery was reported about 7:30 a.m. Sunday at an apartment along 18th Street, near Henry M. Jackson Park in north Everett.
Detectives believe the man who lived at the apartment knew at least one of the female suspects, Everett police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg said Monday.
That woman had been inside the apartment before the robbery and had seen valuables inside, Dalberg said.
Three of the suspects were hanging out at the apartment late Saturday night, according to a police affidavit. They left around 3:30 a.m. Sunday and returned a few hours later.
One of the women then unlocked the front door, according to court papers. Two men with bandanas over their faces came inside and assaulted the man who lived there.
The man told police that at least one of the robbers beat him and threatened to kill his 10-year-old son. The other suspects rummaged through the house and filled backpacks with valuables.
Police haven't shared what kinds of items were stolen.
At some point, one of the suspects warned the others that the man's son was starting to wake up. All five drove away in a car with the goods.
They were pulled over about 8 a.m. in Marysville.
Three men and two women were arrested for investigation of first-degree robbery.
