Regarding “On the record” in Sunday’s paper, I find it somewhat amusing to see that our County Exec’s office has commissioned two pieces of artwork for a nice tidy sum of $44,000! How wonderful it is that our county offices have such nice artwork to enjoy while doing the people’s business!
How on earth can anyone up there justify that kind of expense in such times of budgetary problems throughout the entire government system? It’s kind of like rubbing our noses in their arrogance. I think poster art would do just fine, thank you very much. How utterly ridiculous and out of touch with the people they purport to govern. Maybe that money could have helped pave some of our miserable chuck-holed roads.
