LYNNWOOD — Lynnwood police are hosting the 30th anniversary of the North American Motor Officers Association Training Conference and Competition May 16 to 18 at the Tulalip Resort Casino.
The three-day event is free and open to the public.
Visitors will be able to watch motorcycle officers train and compete. They can meet motorcycle officers, learn about motorcycle safety, see new motorcycles and visit more than 40 booths.
Motorcycle officers are expected to come from around the United States and Canada.
Lynnwood police traffic Sgt. David Harris said the department is honored to host the largest police motorcycle conference in the nation.
“It is our hope people will walk away from this event with a newly learned skill that may help save their life while operating a motorcycle,” he said. “NAMOA is about safety — all of our safety. Come out, watch and have some fun!”
The North American Motor Officers Association is a nonprofit organization, with an annual membership of about 400 motorcycle officers from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. The organization seeks to promote traffic safety through education and training for police motorcycle officers and civilian riders.
