OLYMPIA — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee has released five years of tax returns.
Documents provided to The Associated Press on Tuesday show that the Inslees earned about $237,000 in 2011. That includes his congressional salary, $33,000 that his wife earned as a consultant and a $45,000 distribution from a personal retirement account.
The couple reported giving $3,600 to charity and paying about $46,000 in taxes.
Inslee’s campaign is calling on Republican candidate Rob McKenna to also release tax returns. A spokesman for McKenna pointed to the personal financial disclosure forms that the attorney general has filed during his years in public office. Charles McCray said McKenna would need to discuss with his family the possibility of also releasing tax returns.
