The Washington Stealth continued their offseason roster construction on Wednesday by re-signing defenseman Chris McElroy and forward Cliff Smith.
McElroy is entering his ninth season in the National Lacrosse League and his third with the Stealth. He appeared in 13 games for the Stealth in 2012, recording one assist and picking up 21 loose balls.
“Chris is entering the season as healthy as he has been in three years and we look forward to him being back with our organization,” Stealth general manager Doug Locker said in a press release.
Smith is also going into his third season with the Stealth. Injuries kept Smith out for most of the 2012 season, but he did appear in seven games, scoring three goals and dishing four assists.
“Cliff is a tremendously versatile player who is willing to do whatever it takes for the team to be successful and having him back healthy and rested is a big boost for us,” Locker said.
