The Silvertips announced today the signing of goaltender prospect Nik Amundrud to a WHL education contract, committing Amundrud’s future to Everett.
Amundrud, who turns 15 Saturday, was one of Everett’s three third-round picks in this year’s bantam draft, being selected 59th overall. The Melfort, Saskatchewan, native was a solid performer during this year’s training camp, finishing tied for third in save percentage at .910. He then stopped all 18 shots he faced in the Green vs. Grey Game.
This season Amundrud is playing for the Tisdale Trojans of the SMAAAHL. Through three starts he is 2-1 with s 3.33 goals against average and .872 save percentage.
Amundrud joins defenseman Kevin Davis, Everett’s first rounder, as players from this year’s bantam draft who have signed with the Tips.
