Arlington: Annual wreath workshop planned

Arlington Garden Club presents its annual Christmas wreath-making workshop as part of its Turn Your Thumb Green series.

The popular workshop, presented by club members and Karen Ricketts, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the community room at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE. Admission is $4 for non-members.

Bring pruning shears, green twine and lots of greens from your garden to share with others. If you need a wreath form, it will be available at the door for $5.

Terrace: Learn about firearms

The Mountlake Terrace Police Department has added another free firearms safety seminar next month after people signed up for all the spots in the Dec. 6 class.

The seminar, "Personal Defense and Firearm Safety," covers best practices for protecting one's self, family and property. The next available class is from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23308 58th Ave. W.

Seating is limited. Reservations are encouraged.

Snohomish: Santa Claus to light tree

Snohomish is celebrating the Home for the Holidays event Friday with Santa Claus lighting up the Christmas tree in downtown.

Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive at 3:30 p.m. at the corner of First Street and Avenue B. People can take pictures with their own camera of Santa Claus from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bee Bops and Lollipops store, 1112 First St. There is no cost for the pictures.
