SNOHOMISH — A man who told police he was homeless and living out of a duffel bag was booked into Snohomish County Jail on Saturday after allegedly breaking into his former girlfriend’s home and then leading police on a car chase.
Police received a report that the man was harassing people at a home in the 1700 block of 155th Avenue SE in Snohomish.
The suspect, 33, allegedly led Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies on a short pursuit.
Deputies quickly abandoned the chase. The speeding suspect eventually crashed into a ravine at the intersection of 20th Street SE and Highway 9 near Lake Stevens, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
He had no serious injuries.
The man was under a court order to have no contact with the people living at the home. He’s accused of using a key to scratch their car and smashing out a window.
The suspect was arrested for investigation of attempting to elude police, burglary, driving with a suspended license, an ignition interlock violation, malicious mischief and reckless driving.
