EVERETT — The Everett AquaSox took advantage of wildness by Hillsboro Hops pitchers, winning the final game of their five-game series 3-2 Monday night at a soggy Everett Memorial Stadium.
Hillsboro’s pitchers issued 10 free passes, including two with the bases loaded. Michael Faulkner’s bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth inning snapped a 2-2 tie and held up as the game-winning run.
The game was delayed 1 hour, 28 minutes because of a cloudburst that flooded the field at Everett Memorial Stadium with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Austin Wilson, the Seattle Mariners’ second-round pick in this year’s draft, made his professional debut in the game. Wilson served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-2 with two walks.
