The Seahawks had a walkthrough today and are not on their way to San Diego (OK, they may just be on their way to the airport, I don’t actually not the flight time, but you get the idea).

Pete Carroll wouldn’t say who all will/won’t play, though he did admit that if there are players they think need rest, they’ll rest them. Just a hunch, but expect that group to include a few veterans, perhaps Sidney Rice and maybe Marshawn Lynch.

Of the players who have been sidelined recently with injuries, Carroll said C Max Unger has a groin issue and that he’ll be a game-day decision (again, if there’s any issue at all, I’d be surprised to see Unger play).

Bruce Irvin, who has a groin injury, will likely return to practice next week, but isn’t going to play.

“He’s really close,” Carroll said, “but it’s not the right thing to play him.”

Whether Lynch plays sparingly or at all, look to see rookie Christine Michael carry the ball a lot.

“He’s going to get a load,” said Carroll, who also noted Michael will get the first crack at a kick return duties.

Guard James Carpenter, who hasn’t practiced since limping off the field Monday, has a foot strain according to Carroll, who described Carpenter’s status as day-to-day.

RB Robert Turbin, who passed his physical earlier in the week, still isn’t practicing, but that is only because, according to Carroll, “we’re bringing him back slowly.”
