The Oak Harbor Garden Club celebrated its 90th anniversary Oct. 8.
The garden club is a nonprofit community organization. Conservation and beautification of the Oak Harbor area are its goals.
Annual club projects include Adopt A Park maintenance of Hal Ramaley Park, Nora’s Garden and John Vanderzicht Pool shade garden.
They also sell Christmas wreaths in Novmeber as a fundraiser, offer Junior Gardening Workshops at Hillcrest Elementary and hold the June Garden Tour and Tea.
A new project is working with Sno-Isle Libraries to digitize the community’s history.
The garden club’s monthly meetings are held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday, September through June, at Oak Harbor First United Methodist Church, 1050 SE Ireland St.
