SEATTLE — Six Washington players scored in double figures as the Huskies cruised past Wisconsin 80-67 in women’s college basketball action Friday night.
The non-conference victory improved the Huskies’ record to 3-3. Wisconsin dropped to 6-4.
Forward Aminah Williams led Washington with 19 points. She was 8-for-11 from the floor, including 3-for-3 from 3-point range, and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.
Also in double figures for the Huskies were Talia Walton (16), Mercedes Wetmore (11), Kelsey Plum (11), Jazmine Davis (10) and Katie Collier (10).
Wisconsin’s Michala Johnson led all scorers with 25 points.
Washington trailed 37-36 at halftime, but took control in the second half by shooting 57 percent from floor (17-for-30).
Plum’s basket with 17:25 remaining in the game gave the Huskies a 42-41 lead and ignited a 15-0 run. Washington led by double digits the rest of the way.
