Fact: There are hundreds of thousands of people that are out of work. Fact: Boeing pays better than any other employer in the region and people that have been out of work for two to five years will gladly take your job — for good pay, a better than average retirement 401k savings plan, with medical and dental benefits — even if you do have to help pay the premiums.
Fact: Most people have ended up taking pay cuts and paying premiums. Fact: The economy is now an employer’s market, not an employee’s market and there are many states with hundreds of thousands of unemployed citizens that are drooling over getting Boeing to come to their state — praying that you would vote no so that they could get all your jobs for their unemployed workers. Do the workers really hate their jobs so much that they are willing to gamble the future on the mistaken belief that Boeing is “just bluffing”? The economy is still bad — really bad — and Boeing is in a position to go wherever they choose and get any concessions they want if they are providing good paying jobs in a stumbling economy. Wise up now!
