Promotions at Landau Associates announced

Edmonds-based geotechnical consulting firm Landau Associates has promoted Devan Brandt in its Edmonds office and Sierra Mott in its Tacoma office. Brandt has been promoted to senior technician in the Edmonds Geotechnical group. He will manage equipment and supplies, and provide laboratory and field support to both the Edmonds Geotechnical and Environmental groups. Mott has been promoted to staff scientist.

Doctors honored by magazine

Western Washington Medical Group had six of its doctors named to Seattle Met’s “Top Doc” list for 2014. Winners include ENT physician Matthew Ashbach, orthopedist Robin Madsenin, orthopedist Shane Leavitt, orthopedist Thomas Stark, Harold McCutchan in hand surgery, and Terry Corwin in urology. Physicians for this award were nominated by their peers.

RAM brewery wins medals for beer

The RAM Restaurant and Brewery was awarded five medals, including two golds, for their hand-crafted beers from the North American Brewers Association 18th annual North American Beer Awards on June 6. The RAM is a family owned and operated restaurant and brewery business founded 43 years ago in Lakewood. It has a location in Tulalip.

Workshop aims to get veterans into business

The U.S. Small Business Administration will host an entrepreneurship training course for veterans in 12 U.S. cities including Seattle on Aug. 20 and 21. Each two-day “Boots to Business: Reboot” event will be led by representatives from SBA’s resource partners and industry experts from Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families. General Aviation Month declared by Inslee

The Alliance for Aviation Across America has applauded Washington Gov. Jay Inslee for declaring June 2014 “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In Washington, general aviation accounts for $26 billion in annual economic activity statewide. In addition, it supports other industries such as agriculture, law enforcement, medical care, disaster relief and other services.
