Man held in assault on wife in Gold Bar

EVERETT — She brought a friend and a relative to help her move out from the Gold Bar trailer court.

All seemed calm Sunday afternoon.

Her husband, who she was leaving, helped the trio pack boxes to take out to the van.

When she went to the bathroom, leaving the other two men in another room, her husband attacked her with a knife, according to allegations used to establish probable cause for her husband’s arrest.

The suspect, 38, allegedly stabbed her in the face near her eye with a pen knife. She screamed for help.

Witnesses said there was no argument or exchange of words beforehand.

As she tried to get away, he reportedly stabbed her in the back, the sheriff’s report said. She fell to the floor.

One of the her companions escorted her from the trailer while the other threw items at the suspect to keep him away.

Deputies and medics found her on the street in front of the trailer.

The woman was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she required surgery. Her injuries were considered life threatening.

The couple’s son, 5, was in the home at the time.

The suspect, who has no criminal history, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree domestic violence assault. His bail is set at $250,000.
