EVERETT — The Port of Everett is down to four candidates for the executive director position and a decision is expected later this month or early September.
The Port Commission interviewed the candidates at a closed meeting last week. The port isn’t disclosing the finalists.
The successful candidate will replace long-time executive director John Mohr, who announced in March that he plans to retire. The salary for the position depends on negotiations with the successful candidate.
The Port of Everett has more than 100 full-time employees and a budget of more than $50 million. Policy is set by three elected commissioners and implemented by the executive director.
The new candidate is expected to come aboard this fall and work with Mohr before he leaves in January.
