2 Boeing contract workers injured, taken to hospitals

EVERETT — Two contract workers at Boeing’s Everett plant were injured Thursday night while working on an airplane on the flight line.

One worker was taken by helicopter and another by ground ambulance to hospitals for treatment, according to a statement issued by the company.

“We are not disclosing the contract employees’ names or any other details of the incident at this time,” the company said in the statement. “Our primary focus is the injured individuals and their families. Boeing respects the privacy of its employees, its contractors and their families as they cope with this type of situation.”

The accident happened at stall 216 on the flight line, according to witnesses. Crews there have been working on a 777 with Singapore Airlines livery.

The Everett Fire Department responded to the accident, along with Boeing emergency responders.
