You’ll need to buy a Good To Go Flex Pass if you intend to use the new express toll lanes on I-405 between Lynnwood and Bellevue, expected to open this fall.
The new pass is required even if you already have an existing Good To Go pass.
The Flex Pass has two modes: a high-occupancy vehicle setting for carpools and vanpools, and a toll setting for single drivers or two-person carpools.
The new Flex Pass costs $15 and can be used to pay tolls on all state toll facilities. The one-time purchase can be made at www.goodtogo405.com.
Drivers who have a switchable pass for Highway 167 toll lanes can contact Good To Go for a free upgrade.
WSDOT also will give away Flex Passes to drivers who will regularly carpool on I-405 between Bellevue and Lynnwood. Drivers will need to register on RideshareOnline.com, or another partnering network, such as Community Transit’s Curb the Congestion, and fill out a survey to determine if they qualify to receive a free Flex Pass.
The new carpool requirements, up to three occupants from two, were set by the Washington State Transportation Commission along with toll rates of 75 cents up to $10. The typical toll is expected to range from 75 cents to $4.
Carpoolers can also use RideshareOnline.com’s ride-matching services to find potential carpool partners.
Drivers who don’t have a Good To Go Flex Pass will still be able to use the express lanes but will pay more.
