Andy Porter will be offering two upcoming photography courses through Marysville Parks and Recreation. The first is nature photography. This four-hour course includes manual settings, aperture, creating depth and focus, composition and basic tricks of the trade. The class is offered on May 9 or June 6 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Jennings Park Rotary Ranch, 6915 Armar Road. Cost is $60.
The second course is photo composition and basic editing. This two-day, six-hour session covers image composition, editing, subject placement, use of horizon, the rule of thirds, framing and more. You’ll receive a photo assignment to be used on the second day of class and bring your laptop if you have one (optional). The class is from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 13 and 20 or June 10 and 17 at the Community Center, 514 Delta Ave. Cost is $100.
