Lynnwood lighting designer speaks in Mexico City

Lynnwood-based designer Denise Fong unveiled the latest trends and influences in urban sustainable lighting during a presentation at an international lighting conference in Mexico City earlier this month. Fong is a lighting designer with Candela Lighting Design and Consulting with more than 30 years of experience. Candela is a part of Stantec, formerly Sparling.

Investment advisers to appear as guests on local radio show

Getting Your Dough to Rise, KSER 90.7 FM and KXIR 89.9 FM’s monthly personal finance show, is from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. In keeping with Financial Literacy Month, host Chuck Noel welcomes retired investment adviser, author and PBS seminar host Paul Merriman, certified financial planner Kurt Wanner and Rick Genoni, managing director at investment firm Legg Mason.

Comcast employees volunteer at Monroe Boys &Girls Club

More than 175 local Comcast NBC Universal employees and their families, friends and community partners on Saturday volunteered to improve the Monroe Boys &Girls Club as part of the 14th annual Comcast Cares Day. Projects included painting, cleaning, building and landscaping. The club also received a $25,000 grant through a partnership between The Comcast Foundation and United Way Worldwide.

Marysville storage facility expands

Smokey Point Self Storage at 15414 Smokey Point Blvd. in Marysville has nearly completed a remodel. Locally owned by Cascade Storage LLC, and managed by West Coast Self-Storage, the property will now have a covered driveway and a drive-in load and unload area featuring 380 brand new units. They are currently pre-leasing the new space.
