SNOHOMISH — The Snohomish Police Department is planning a kickoff event for its new Snohomish K9 Crimewatch program.
Police are looking for dog walkers to help be the eyes and ears of their community. They can learn more about the program by attending the event set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 20, at the Snohomish Boys &Girls Club, 402 Second St.
People attending the event should have their dogs on leashes.
There will be several demonstrations involving police dogs, search and rescue dogs and dogs trained in sniffing out narcotics. There also will be an agility and a dog barn hunting demonstration.
Several vendors, including veterinarians, animal welfare groups and search and rescue teams, also will be in attendance.
The first 200 dog walkers to sign up get a free Snohomish K9 Crimewatch dog bandana.
