Live music in Snohomish

The 8th Annual Snohomish Taste of Music is scheduled from Friday to Sunday downtown.

The three days of live music features soul, funk, blues, country and rock. Musicians include Curtis Salgado, the Stacy Jones Band, the CD Woodbury Band, Brian Lee &the Orbiters and Washington’s finalists in the International Blues Challenge.

Admission is $10 a day or $25 for three days.

Looking for history at home: The Herald is looking to interview people about their home archiving projects — efforts to preserve and restore items of personal and family history. Examples would include old photos, love letters and wedding dresses, and anyone who has sought technical help from a library or genealogical society for their project. Be a ham: Learn amateur or “ham” radio skills in Brier. A new class starts Sept. 21 and runs Monday evenings for six weeks at City Hall. The federal exam is Nov. 9. Fees apply.

Elks host open house: The Everett Elks Lodge is hosting a public open house from 1-4 pm Saturday. Elks members will conduct tours of the building, share the history of the organization and their charitable activities. The lodge is located at 2802 Hoyt Ave.
