TULALIP — Detectives are seeking witnesses who can fill in details about a fatal crash that killed four young people on the Tulalip Indian Reservation last week.
Collision Investigation Unit detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are looking for information about the circumstances that led to a pickup truck plunging into a hatchery pond in the 7500 block of Totem Beach Road.
Killed were Ariela Vendiola, 15, of Marysville; Lynnishia Larson, 16, of Marysville; Tyson D. Walker, 21, of Tulalip; and Dylan Monger, 22, of Tulalip. All four died at the scene.
Detectives are looking for witnesses to the incident or surveillance video of the truck from around 1:30 a.m. to when the accident was reported around 3:30 a.m., sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
“Detectives are seeking this information to help piece together what may have caused the incident, as well as additional evidence to aid in their investigation,” Ireton said.
Such accident reconstruction reports often take six months to a year before findings are shared.
All four victims had attended local schools. Vendiola and Larson were enrolled to attend Marysville Pilchuck High School for their junior year this fall.
