Howie’s Beardslee Public House raises money for UW Bothell, Cascadia College

Chef John Howie presented checks to Cascadia College and University of Washington Bothell student scholarship funds for $2,880 each — or a total of $5,760.* The funds were gathered during a monthlong fundraiser following the opening of Howie’s Beardslee Public House at the Village at Beardslee Crossing in August. Beardslee Public House donated 10 percent of Beardslee beer sales during that period to student scholarship funds.

Edmonds to host ‘All Chamber Meet &Greet’

The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is hosting an All Chamber Meet &Greet for all local Chambers from north Seattle throughout Snohomish County and beyond. Stanwood rates high on list of best places to start a business

Consumer finance site NerdWallet has released a list of the best places to start a small business in Washington. Locally, nine cities made the top 100. Stanwood took the 14th spot on the list. Snohomish was No. 18. Everett and Lynnwood came in at 25 and 26. Monroe came in at 28 and Maltby at 30. Mill Creek was 57, Edmonds 66 and Arlington at 75.

Marysville dental office to hold grand opening

The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce is planning to hold a ribbon cutting for Pinewood Family Dental. The event is occurring 11 a.m. Wednesday at the clinic at 3701 88th St. NE, Suite D, Marysville.

Nominate a nurse for March of Dimes award

The March of Dimes Washington Chapter is celebrating its 13th year of honoring the best and brightest local nurses in the Washington Nurse of the Year Awards on Nov. 13. Nominations for exceptional nurses will be accepted through Friday at www.marchofdimes.org/washington, or call 206-624-1373.
