SEATTLE — Port of Seattle authorities say a three-legged female raccoon named Tripod who has charmed tourists in exchange for treats for years won’t be forced to move when a terminal is renovated.
Port spokesman Peter McGraw told KOMO-TV in a story Sunday that there are no plans to evict Tripod from Terminal 66 when it’s remodeled by Norwegian Cruise Line this fall.
Authorities say the remodel only involves the interior of the terminal and Tripod’s home should be unaffected.
Beverly Bowers with McRoberts Maritime Security says Tripod brings smiles to workers, tourists and passengers as she sits on rocks at low tide hunting for edibles and sometimes looking up for food.
Tripod has been a fixture in the area for about seven years.
