Flu shot clinic in Granite Falls
The Granite Falls School District is hosting a flu shot clinic from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the middle school multipurpose room at 405 N. Alder Ave. The district is working with the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association to provide shots for students, families and district staff. Students under 18 without health insurance can get a flu shot at no cost.
People will be asked for health insurance information and anyone under the age of 18 needs a patient consent form signed by a legal guardian. The nurses’ association accepts most insurance plans but does not take Cigna, TriCare or Kaiser, according to the district.
Help with college aid: The Monroe School District has scheduled a night of information on college financial aid at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Monroe High School’s Learning Center.
Students and parents will learn about paying for college, financial options, and why it’s important to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid regardless of family income.
There will be help available for students getting started and guidance on how to continue the process.
Free smoke alarms: The American Red Cross continues its smoke alarm campaign in Snohomish County. Distribution events are planned Saturday in Everett, Marysville and Darrington. Additional events are planned for November. Anyone interested in organizing smoke alarm distribution in their neighborhood can contact Jamie.Gravelle@redcross.org.
