Hi, neighbors. Try this cheap vacation trip. I left Camano Island, visited Portland, San Francisco, L.A., Las Vegas, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Albuquerque, Denver, Boise, Spokane and Wenatchee all for under $120. The $120 was what I started with in pocket change for coffee, breakfast treats and candy bars along the way.
How did I do it for such a small cost? I used the federal government’s bookkeeping procedure. You have read that the unemployment situation is under 6 percent, right? Well, those in Washington, D.C., are liars. There are millions of Americans who are not on the unemployment list because they quit looking for work when there were actually no jobs in their area they could go after. The liars in D.C. do not count them as “unemployed” after they get past their 100 weeks of unemployment benefits. Yes, it is a lie, but it is more of a lie that the media passes the lies along as truths.
You can take a four-week trip as I did, for what it cost me, by not counting the charges on your credit card for gas and lodging.
See how simple life is when you are a liar.
Isn’t about time The Herald Opinion page started to print the truth? When columnist Eugene Robinson says that President Obama has the unemployment down below 5.8 percent, even a moron knows that if you include the millions who stopped looking for work are excluded from those figures, and you don’t say it, the unemployment figure is closer to 20 percent.
My generation is at fault! We didn’t demand term limits and honesty from the media. Think about it.
