EDMONDS — Police here believe a 2 a.m. volley of gunfire Tuesday was the result of some sort of argument, but they are getting little cooperation from the people believed responsible.
Neighbors in the 17100 block of 67th Avenue W reported hearing shots, and officers arrived to find several spent shell casings on the ground, Edmonds police Sgt. Shane Hawley said.
Investigators determined nobody was injured. However, a house and a car apparently were struck by bullets.
The car was gone, and the same was true of the people who may have been inside, Hawley said.
“Based on information gathered so far from independent witnesses, this appears to have been a violent altercation between known parties,” he said in a press release. “There is no known, specific ongoing threat to the general public.”
Police have received little cooperation from anybody believed to be involved, but they continue to follow up on what Hawley characterized as “solid leads” about the identities of those involved.
He urged anyone with information to call police or to send tips to EPDtips@edmondswa.gov.
