Charter Review Commission to hear from council member, judges Wednesday

The Snohomish County Charter Review Commission will hear from a county council member, a Superior Court judge and South District Court Judge Beth Fraser at a commission meeting Wednesday.

The commission will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Jackson Board Room on the Eighth Floor of the Robert J. Drewel Building on the County Courthouse Campus in Everett.

Bob Terwiliger, who represents Mountlake Terrace, Brier and the rest of County Council District 4 on the Charter Review Commission, has been named vice chairman of the commission.

Terwilliger, along with Ed Barton and Cheryl Stanford represent County Council District 4; Democratic State Sen. Marko Liias, along with Natalia Fior and Edmonds School Board member Carin Chase represent Edmonds, Lynnwood, Woodway and the rest of District 3.

Commissioners from the five Snohomish County Council districts chose Mukilteo Mayor Jennifer Gregerson in January to lead the commission

The commission can propose possible amendments to the county charter. The commission must send proposed amendments to the County Council and submit them to the county auditor by Aug. 2 to go to the November general-election ballot.
