The front page article in today’s paper is a new low for sensational journalism. (“Arlington hospital board chairman accused of stalking ex.”) Was it really necessary to smear this fine man’s reputation with a front page article as well as display his picture?
Tim Cavanagh has been our family veterinarian for over 15 years. He has treated pets for many ailments including cancer and performed surgeries for serious injuries. He has always gone the extra mile and has always been kind and caring. He has called us personally to see how we’re doing after we have lost pets to illness.
The article fails to address all the years he has been an upstanding citizen and public service official or the good deeds he has done in his practice. Instead he has been attacked publicly for what appears to be a personal problem that has only occurred for the last month. Whatever it is that is happening with Tim, he does not deserve the treatment he has been given by this newspaper. Leave it to the courts to decide the validity of the charges against him, not the public humiliation that you have subjected him to with your article.
We will continue to be a loyal customer to this fine man and veterinary doctor.
