LYNNWOOD — A woman who was thought to have been kidnapped along Larch Way on March 14 has been in touch with her family.
Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives believe they have identified the woman, spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Tuesday. The woman’s name and other details were not made public.
“Detectives are working to interview her and piece together the events that led up to the woman being shoved into a vehicle by an unidentified male,” Ireton said.
The incident set off a storm of news coverage after it was initially reported on social media as the kidnapping of a teen girl from a school near Lynnwood.
Detectives have not ruled out kidnapping as a possible charge in the case, Ireton said. The woman’s condition was unknown Tuesday.
“The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made,” Ireton said.
