GOP debate
Three Republican candidates for lieutenant governor will discuss their ideas at Thursday’s luncheon meeting of the Snohomish County Republican Women’s Club.
GOP hopefuls Philip Yin, Marty McClendon and Javier Figueroa are slated to attend the 11 a.m. event at Shawn O’Donnell’s Restaurant in Everett, 122 128th St. SE. It will take place in the downstairs meeting room.
This year’s race for lieutenant governor is wide open as Brad Owen, a Democrat, is retiring. Four Democratic candidates, all members of the Legislature, are seeking the seat as well.
Thursday’s event is free but if you wish to order a lunch you are asked to RSVP by contacting Frauna Hoglund at 425-870-2524.
Apply for 4th of July parade: The city of Everett is accepting applications for its Colors of Freedom Fourth of July parade. The city is looking for groups that celebrate the Colors of Freedom theme and Everett’s community.
Performances should offer high entertainment value, which can include colorful musical displays, dance or drill teams, floats and the like. Applications are due by June 6, and selected participants will be notified by June 17. To apply, go to everettwa.gov/parade applications.
