SEATTLE — The White House has announced nominees for judicial vacancies in U.S. District Court in Washington state.
President Barack Obama has nominated judges to fill two vacancies and one future opening.
The nominees are King County Superior Court Judge Beth M. Andrus, to fill a vacancy created when Judge Robert S. Lasnik assumed senior status in January. Andrus has been on the Superior Court since 2010.
Seattle attorney Kathleen M. O’Sullivan was chosen to fill a judicial vacancy created when District Judge Marsha J. Pechman assumed senior status in February.
O’Sullivan has been a partner in the Seattle law firm Perkins Coie since 2004.
Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Michael Diaz has been picked to fill a vacancy that is expected in June when District Judge James L. Robart assumes senior status. Diaz has served in the U.S. attorney’s office since 2008.
These appointments must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
