Plant: Help fill downtown with color

Spring is in full bloom, and people are invited to help fill downtown Everett planters with bright flowers for a Viva Color volunteer event Friday. All ages are welcome to help Everett Parks and Recreation employees plant hundreds of blooming plants and greens in large containers.

Meet at 8:30 a.m. today on the corner of Colby and Hewitt avenues. Dress for the weather and bring your community spirit. Gloves, trowels, safety vests, refreshments and souvenir buttons are provided.

Miss the event? Help out again June 4, when volunteers are needed to help plant flowers along Mukilteo Boulevard near Forest Park.
