Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus are presenting their new 2012-13 season of bold concerts as well as fun stuff such as “Dancing Queen,” a show based on ABBA tunes.
Though most of their concerts are in the Seattle area, the Men’s Chorus will present one performance of its annual holiday concert in Everett.
“Baby, It’s Cold Outside” will kick off with a special opening guest — who is yet to be announced — with songs from south of the border, Hawaii and tropical hot spots to make you forget about winter.
The holiday concert will combine campy comedy with incredible crooning along with some sizzling dance numbers, in traditional Seattle Men’s Chorus style.
The holiday concert is 8 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave., Everett.
In April, the Men’s Chorus performs at McCaw Hall in Seattle presenting an ABBA-filled combination of comedy and music. In June, the chorus collaborates with The 5th Avenue Theatre to conclude their season with songs from the popular musical “Hairspray.”
The Seattle Women’s Chorus is in its 10th year and holds its fall concert, “How Sweet the Sound” on Oct. 12 at St. Mark’s Cathedral on Capitol Hill.
The concert includes classic French works by Ravel, Faure and Delibes and some contemporary pieces by composers such as Eric Whitacre, Morton Lauridsen and Gwyneth Walker.
