“Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming”: Welcome back Taproot’s toe-tappin’ bluegrass gospel musical.
The story takes us back to an October evening in 1945 as the Sanders family — who are much beloved for their musical talents — gather to sing together for what might be the last time.
“Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming” was written by Connie Ray, who has appeared in films and television shows, including “Stuart Little,” “Hope Floats,” “ER” and “Touched by an Angel.” It is directed by Scott Nolte with musical arrangements by Mike Craver.
