SPOKANE — Four candidates for the job of Spokane police chief will be in the city Wednesday for interviews, including one open to the public.
Mayor David Condon told The Spokesman-Review that the city remains on track to select a new chief by next month.
The four are the retired chief of the Stockton, Calif., department Blair Ulring, and three current officers in management positions: Daniel J. Mahoney from San Francisco, George Markert from Rochester, N.Y., and Frank Straub from Indianapolis.
The new chief will replace Anne Kirkpatrick who left the job at the beginning of the year.
