EVERETT — The naval station in Everett is hosting a multiple-day drill beginning Monday.
Neighbors may hear what sounds like gunfire. It is part of the exercise, Naval Station Everett spokeswoman Kristin Ching said.
The anti-terrorism drill runs through Feb. 9. The annual training is conducted on bases around the United States. The Navy plans to use realistic scenarios to practice handling security threats.
Neighbors may notice a large law enforcement presence and an increase in traffic, Ching said. The base is located on West Marine View Drive.
The front gates are scheduled to close Tuesday and Feb. 7 between 9 a.m. and noon for the drill.
