LAKE STEVENS — A body was found in Lake Stevens on Saturday afternoon by a group who had been searching for a missing man.
The body has not been identified, Lake Stevens police Cmdr. Jeff Beazizo said.
The family of Jason White, who had disappeared Jan. 3, planned to look for him Saturday morning. With help from a search and rescue team, they scoured a heavily wooded area near White’s home on Market Place. A police dog had discovered his wallet there about a week ago, Beazizo said.
The body was found around 2 p.m. just south of First Street SE.
Detectives are investigating the man’s death. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner is expected to identify the man.
