Man’s body recovered from Skykomish River

INDEX — Emergency responders recovered the body of a man from the Skykomish River on Saturday morning.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 49100 block of U.S. 2 around 11:41 a.m. for the report of a body floating in the river. Search and rescue units responded, as well, including a helicopter to search the river.

Crews pulled the body from the water. The county medical examiner will investigate to determine the man’s identity, Lt. Steve McDonald said.

Two people have gone missing along that stretch of the Skykomish recently. A man fell into the river two weeks ago. A woman from Texas also disappeared in the Skykomish River near Sunset Falls Tuesday.
