SULTAN — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue Unit located the body Wednesday of a Monroe man reported missing by his family.
The man, 37, was found deceased after being spotted by SnoHawk1 on Wednesday afternoon on a Skykomish River island, where he had been camping and canoeing. His death is not considered suspicious, but cause and manner are pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
The man left Friday, putting in on the Skykomish River near Sultan, and setting up camp on the island, the sheriff’s office reported. When he didn’t return home as planned, family members called the sheriff’s office.
Identification of the deceased will be released by the medical examiner.
