MARYSVILLE — Detectives in Marysville are investigating robberies of two Subway restaurants that occurred three weeks apart and possibly by the same suspect.
The most recent robbery occurred just before 9 p.m. Thursday at a Subway in the 9200 block of State Avenue. The suspect displayed a knife and demanded cash from the register, police said. He was seen running in a northwesterly direction from the restaurant.
He is described as being in his early 20s. He’s about 5 feet 7 with a husky build and chubby cheeks. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with light colored stripes running down the sides. He also wore dark colored pants.
On Feb 22, again just before 9 p.m., a man walked into the Subway in the 400 block of State Avenue and demanded all the big bills in the cash register. The suspect headed east on 5th Street.
He is described as in his 20s, perhaps between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt underneath a blue or black athletic-style jacket with a New York Yankees logo on it. He was also wearing baggy, rolled-up blue jeans and black shoes.
Anyone with a tip is asked to call 911 and to refer to Marysville police case numbers 17-8710 and 17-12437.
