SEATTLE — A prolific seller of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine on the now-shuttered Silk Road online marketplace has pleaded guilty in federal court in Seattle.
Steven Sadler faces five to 40 years for drug conspiracy when he’s sentenced in September.
Federal authorities shut down Silk Road last year. The man accusing of running it, Ross William Ulbricht, is due to go on trial in New York.
The black market drug bazaar allowed people to buy and sell drugs anonymously using virtual currency. The 40-year-old Sadler shipped the drugs through the mail.
His co-defendant, Jenna White, pleaded guilty in March.
They were arrested after investigators asked postal clerks in SeaTac to be on the lookout for a woman identified in surveillance video as being associated with suspect packages.
Police found drugs, a handgun and $4,200 at their Bellevue condominium. Sadler is forfeiting the cash as well as his BMW.
