DARRINGTON — A wildfire burning east of Darrington has grown to 200 acres.
The fire still was uncontained Tuesday afternoon, said Janet Pearce, a spokeswoman with the state Department of Natural Resources.
The fire began Sunday near Suiattle River Road. Flames have spread across federal land and Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.
No structures or campgrounds were threatened.
However, Pearce said the hot temperatures forecast for the week will be challenging for firefighters.
Officials have asked that people avoid the area because of smoke and emergency vehicle traffic.
The Department of Natural Resources has deployed two helicopters and 150 firefighters.
